Some people in the world fight for obeying the human rights law while others commit themselves to fighting for animal liberation. My question is; who is going to fight for the rights of PKP passengers?
May break… A lot of people wait for these several days off to finally slow down the pace of life for a while, be lazy and enjoy being with family. I am sure the majority of students do. However, before you reach your destination, home sweet home, you have to take into account that PKP will, certainly, prepare something outrageous to successfully divert your attention from your holiday…
I was full of optimism the other day; going home after a month in my small cage (i.e. my tiny room in Poznań). Nothing could destroy my good mood, I thought. Apparently I was wrong… I went to Central Station, started queuing to buy a ticket… The queue was long, but I was standing with a smile on my face; hey, I was going home for almost a week. As it turned out, the counter lady decided to take a break just before serving me. OK fair enough. Her job must be tiring… So I tried my luck with some other counter. In vain. Break again, just before me being served. Incredible! I succeeded to buy a ticket at the third counter (wheeew) . I checked the schedule, platform 3… Great. I had the ticket, 30 min to go and an unbelievably heavy bag. I rushed toward my platform. I saw dozens of people there waiting for the train to Ostrów Wielkopolski, which means no free seats whatsoever. Oh well… As we were waiting for the train to arrive we heard the announcement that PKP is sorry (as if...) for changing the platform to 7. The herd suddenly started heading toward the exit. I saw one woman fall down and a few people jump over her… The fight for seats had just begun. But all people managed to get in. So what that 70% had to stand holding their bags above their heads… When the train was due to leave the engine driver not very politely urged people to get out because that wagon was unable to move… Why I was surprised, I don’t know. After two hours I finally got to Jarocin and May holiday started… Hurrah!!! The sad thing is I have no choice and I will have to go back by train…
